By What is Uveitis ?
What is uveitis. It is an eye disorder which causes swelling and irritation of uvea, the middle layer of the eye providing most of the blood supply to the retina. It causes inflammation of the uvea of the eye. Uvea is composed of three parts, iris and pupil, ciliary body and choroid. Iris and pupil is the colored circle at the front of the eye. Ciliary body located between the iris and the choroid. A thin, spongy network of blood vessels that mainly provides nutrients to the retina is choroid.
Uveitis Causes
Damaging of tissues, infections or tumors that occurs in the eye or in the other parts of the body, injuries and bruises to the eye, actions of germs, toxins are the uveitis causes, there are many causes of uveitis but the exact cause is often unknown. The ciliary body of the eye also called cyclitis is affected by the intermediary uveitis. When all layers of the uvea are inflamed panuveitis occurs. In any of these conditions, the jelly-like material in the center of your eye (vitreous) can also become inflamed and infiltrated with inflammatory cells.
